Hi Siân, did you receive an answer to your question? Same here, forced adoption 1965, a Church of England registered adoption society in Sunderland. Both of my Adopted parents are now deceased, the latter being my A-mother, one year ago, my mother had kept an adoption file, which had remained hidden from me, and vehemently denied. To my horror it contains proof and letter thanking my Mother for repeated monetary ‘donations’, some being large sums at the time. I was under the impression that any payments were strictly forbidden by the 1958 Adoption Act, leading up to, but not more than 6 months imprisonment. I would also like to know who I can talk to about this matter. I was trafficked by the Church of England basically, was it really so easy to circumvent the law by labelling such payments as ‘donations’ . The receiving said persons employment title be that of a ‘Moral welfare officer’ that in itself is sickening !!! Where or who can I turn to for support, I live in Germany and there is literally no support here that I can find, the German state didn’t have a baby scoop/forced adoption period.
